A Dorset Spring
through the Poetry of William Barnes

In response to the cancellation of public events during the Coronavirus outbreak of 2020–21, the Society developed a programme of virtual events, ensuring that members and supporters could continue to enjoy and engage with William Barnes’ work from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

As part of this programme, in March 2021 members and friends of the William Barnes Society came together online to read and share a carefully chosen selection of William Barnes’ poetry inspired by the Spring season. These readings celebrated themes of renewal, nature, and rural life, offering a timely and uplifting connection to Barnes’ enduring voice during a challenging period.
